French Breakfast Puffs

1/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
2/3 c. milk plus 2 Tblsp.

Mix together shortening, sugar and egg. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Add to first mixture alternately with the milk.

Fill greased muffin tin 2/3 full with batter. Bake at 350° for 20-25 min. Take out of tins, cool slightly. Roll each muffin in 6 Tblsp. melted butter and then roll in mixture of 1/2 c. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon.

Makes about 7 muffins.
